JOB PROFILE
1)       Work with Quality, Operations, Procurement, Program Management, Package Development and R & D to develop long term business strategies.
2)       Develop and manage departmental objectives and projects.
3)       Ensure the effective and timely closure of Supplier Corrective Actions and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) investigations initiated by staff.
4)       Ensure that internal and external containment activities are performed as required to ensure quality of products.
5)       Review nonconformance and consumer complaint data and drive root cause and corrective actions with suppliers to closure using CAPA methodology.
6)       Ensure that Quality Agreements are established and in place with suppliers and service providers.
7)       Manage the Audit process and ensure that staff performs supplier quality system audits and drive improvements as required.
8)       Ensure that staff supports in house manufacturing and consumer complaint issues related to supplier materials and components.
9)       Ensure that staff develops receiving inspection requirements as needed.
10)   Support Operations team with issues at the supplier impacting quality and shipping performance.
11)   Use advanced statistics and Quality Engineering tools (i.e. FMEA, DOE, SPC and MSA) to solve complex problems.
12)   Participate in the supplier qualification, approval and selection process.
13)   Manage the Service Provider qualification process.
14)   Adhere to and manage budgetary commitments.
v Specific Accountabilities
i)       Ability to act as and ensure staff works as a single point of contact between suppliers and EPC on issues related to quality performance.
ii)    Responsible for overall quality assurance leadership in management of select suppliers, co-packers, contract manufacturers and service providers.
iii)  Ability to facilitate a cross-functional team to resolve quality issues.
iv)  Ability to communicate with internal and external customers to resolve quality issues.
v)    Ensure that quality audits are on a documented schedule and comply with the appropriate regulations and EPC’s Quality SOPs.
vi)  Ability to motivate closure of open Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) incidents.
vii)                       Ability to manage non conformances related to suppliers and work with suppliers and cross-functional teams in resolving issues.
viii)                     Ensure that on-site visits of supplier locations are conducted to confirm adherence to quality standards, procedures and regulatory requirements.
ix)  Provide guidance in sampling and testing techniques as needed.
x)    Create reports for QA Executive management and other internal groups. Reports include but not limited to quality trends, quality metrics, trip reports, audit reports, scorecards, assessments, improvement plans and corrective action status reports.
xi)  Ability to write, review, revise and approve SOPs, product specifications, Bill of Materials, and packaging assembly specs.
xii)                       Ability to review and approve nonconformance reports, failure investigations and deviations.

v Required Skills and Experience
i)       BS in Engineering or related field. Masters preferred.
ii)    Five or more years working with suppliers in a Supplier Quality position.
iii)  Five years minimum experience working in a manufacturing environment in a quality related field.
iv)  Working knowledge of FDA regulated products.
v)    Knowledge of Process Control Plans and process FMEA required.
vi)  Excellent written and oral communication skills.
vii)                       Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
viii)                     General knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and their application.
ix)  Excellent computer skills – working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Minitab.
x)    Problem solving skills, including root cause analysis.
xi)  Excellent communication skills.

v Preferred Skills and Experience
i)       External auditing experience desired.
ii)    Knowledge of PPAP highly preferred.
iii)  Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Process highly preferred.
iv)  ASQ CQE certification or Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
v)    QC laboratory experience a plus.
vi)  Injection molding and light assembly experience preferred.
vii)  Advanced statistics preferred.
viii)                        Knowledge and experience with 21 CFR 820 and/or 21 CFR 210/211 a plus.
